Braucht die Spitalseelsorge eine gemeinsame Sprache?

Abstract

The article presents to a german speaking readership the first empirically based taxonomy of chaplaincy activities resulting from a US-American research process, including the first German translation of the items. Four authors discuss advantages as well as limits of standardisation and classification on the basis of their Swiss German and Protestant Reformed background, referring to culturally determined aspects of pastoral and spiritual care in health care. The line of argument is to enhance interprofessional cooperation and sharpen the profile of chaplaincy by means of a precise and compatible language.
