Tiefenerschließung des „Mustergaus“ Sachsen: Die Datenbank zur Dresdner Tageszeitung Der Freiheitskampf (1930–1945)

In contrast to many other digitization projects dealing with newspapers, the database project of the Hannah Arendt Institute for Totalitarianism Studies for the digital capture of the National Socialist daily newspaper Der Freiheitskampf does not rely on full-text recognition, but on in-depth indexing of the content. In addition to an introduction to the source and its scientific value, the text describes the procedure for data capture and the various research options of the database. Furthermore, the article deals with the current ethically and legally justified restrictions on access to the digitized newspaper articles and the future application potential of the generated data.
