Wiener Jahrbuch für Kunstgeschichte

eISSN 2307-2962
ISSN 0083-9981
The "Wiener Jahrbuch für Kunstgeschichte" looks back on a long tradition. The journal, published by the Institute for art history at the University of Vienna in cooperation with the Austrian Bundesdenkmalamt, is because of the foundation of its predecessor in the year 1856 one of the oldest still persisting journals. The yearbook, since 1921 published under the current name, already included articles by famous authors like Max Dvořák and Erwin Panofsky. However, it is also a platform for young scientists. For political reasons, the publication of the journal was stopped in 1937. Since 1949 it is published by Böhlau Verlag. Monothematical volumes alternate with anthologies. The "Wiener Jahrbuch" is not only one of the oldest, but also one of the most reputable journals.
